QOTD: How will the credit crunch impact us?

QOTD: How will the credit crunch impact us?

How will the credit crunch impact us?

What does credit crunch means? The banks has insufficient funds for businesses to borrow allowing them limited credit with a higher rate in borrowing or receiving no credit at all.

How did this happen?  The financial institutions issue an infinite amount of loans to the housing market; it started with sub-prime loans and from there its history.

Why did the government/financial institutions let it go this far? Probably to worry about the war, what do you think?

When they first notice the signs of the finances decreasing, why was a back-up plan implemented?

On September 28, 2008, the bailout plan was rejected.  The government will retry in obtaining the bailout plan, what if it is rejected, again? What is next for the economy?

QOTD: How much do you tip your waiter/waitress?

Posted by nancyscorner Posted on: 09/26/08

QOTD: How much do you tip your waiter/waitress?

You would have to use your best judgement and discretion in tipping your server.  The server will receive a generous tip, if he/she provides good service, but if the service is inadequate he/she may receive a small amount or no tip at all. Tipping, as to gratuity is a form of giving money for services rendered, but what if the service was awful would you leave a tip?

I, do tip on horrible services, but in small amounts.

Have you ever wonder if you tip too much or not enough, I found the following websites as a guide on service industries in tipping servers, waiters, waitress, barbers, beauticians and so forth.

QOTD: How do you feel about school uniforms?

Posted by nancyscorner Posted on: 09/25/08

QOTD: How do you feel about school uniforms?

Instead of buying regular schools clothes every year, if you had a choice would you like to see your child/children in school uniforms or regular clothing.

My daughter gave me a four page letter from the Board of Education the 1st page stated...

last year parents inquire of school uniform dress code, the board of ed has expressed that parents and teachers in all schools  be surveyed in writing on whether sufficient sentiment exists to implement school uniforms consistent with existing board policy.

The 2nd page was the "School Uniform Survey" in the survey it had two questions, along with comment sections.

        1.    Are you in favor of school uniforms?  Yes/No

        2.    If yes, do you have a vision of what you would like to see     our students wearing?

The 3rd and 4th page was the "Policy Manual for Student Dress" basically the do's and don'ts of the school dress code.

I'm all for the uniforms, I would think it'll be less expensive than regular clothes.

QOTD: Are you against firearms?

Posted by nancyscorner Posted on: 09/24/08

QOTD: Are you against firearms?

Obama is against firearms and the National Rifle Association of America (NRA) is campaigning against him.  The campaign is not authorized by any of the candidates or their committees; it is paid by the National Rifle Association of America Political Victory Fund.

A couple that I know went to visit a firearm dealer.  They spoke to one of the representatives in the shop.  The wife asked, we are thinking about purchasing a shotgun.  What type of firearm will be suitable for the house and hunting?  The dealer asked the couple if they had a permit.  The husband showed the representative his credentials.

Then the dealer proceeded on which firearm would be suitable for the house and for hunting.  The wife had several questions, which all were answered.  However, the most important question that concern her was having a firearm in the house with children.  The representative explained to the couple the following…

Don't ever be ignorant when it comes to talking to your kids about guns.  Explain to them why it is in the house and explain to them on how it can hurt people; Let them know it’s not a toy.  Also, let them touch it and show it to them.

Because one day when they visit their friends house and there is a gun in that house and his/her friend start playing with it; your child already knows what the outcome can be if they play with guns.  Your child will not think twice on fooling around with the gun.  Let your kids know of any incidents to report to you or an adult.

The wife was satisfactory with all answers, but the couple did not purchase any firearms, as of yet.  They’re still contemplating if they should or not.

Firearms are dangerous and it can cause the life of another, but the person that pulls the trigger and kills another human being out of anger or just because is a killer.  The individuals, who own firearms, use it for self-defense and/or hunting, should they loose the right to bear arms.

Based on the Second Amendment:

A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.

QOTD: Who started the “Lipstick on a Pig” phrase first?

Posted by nancyscorner Posted on: 09/22/08

QOTD: Who started the “Lipstick on a Pig” phrase first?

McCain stated that Obama should apologize to Palin, but did McCain apologize to Clinton when he used that same exact phrase.

This is my view on what it means, if you have an unappealing product and you keep trying to make it look as if it was a high-quality product; but it still looks unappealing no matter how many times you try to dress it up the product remains unattractive.

In regards, to the politicians when the phrase “Lipstick on a Pig” is use in their debates. Is it towards the opponent as an individual or towards what type of changes can the opponent do as a President/Vice-President?

QOTD: Are you trying to save a buck on gas?

Posted by nancyscorner Posted on: 09/21/08

QOTD: Are you trying to save a buck on gas?

The cost of gasoline keeps rising.  It seems that the economy is not going to decrease anytime soon.  I understand that for some drivers they need their vehicles, because of their place of employment or for other essential matters. Even though you need your vehicle or not, are you trying to save a buck for gas?

Yes, I am trying to save a buck on gas.  There’s only one vehicle in the household, so that’s a plus.  I’ll walk my daughter to school and if I have to go shopping I’ll walk there or use public transportation.  Once a week I’ll use the vehicle for food shopping, because of the distance.
